24h After Saying Goodbye to VSCode, OpenAI Releases Codex App

Yesterday I said I don't open VSCode or Cursor anymore.

Many of you told me that was BS.

24 hours later, OpenAI releases Codex App.

Not a VS Code extension. A dedicated app. To orchestrate agents that code for you.

And Sam Altman posted this:

"I built an app with Codex last week. I felt a little useless and it was sad."

The guy who runs OpenAI. Feeling useless. Using his own tool.

But when OpenAI, Anthropic and all the others release apps outside IDEs to pilot agents...

...it's not a trend.

It's the direction.
